Through this practice, they have built new knowledge on the production and application of smart textiles. Sara + Sarah have been working together for the last 5 years and their research practice as smart textile designers is deeply collaborative. V2_ creates a context in which issues regarding the social impact of technology are explored through critical dialogue, artistic reflection and practice-orientated research. In V2’s view, art and design play an essential role in the social embedding of technological developments. Founded in 1981, V2_ offers a platform for artists, designers, scientists, researchers, theorists, and developers of software and hardware from various disciplines to discuss their work and share their findings. V2_presents, produces, archives and publishes research at the interface of art, technology and society. V2_Lab for the Unstable Media is an interdisciplinary center for art and media in Rotterdam (the Netherlands). The bar will also be open for an informal chat and a drink. The aim of the evening is to share our progress developing large scale light emitting lace and a control system for theatre and performance environments, gain some feedback and create an open environment to connect and discuss work in progress with the smart textiles network in the Netherlands.
